Tropical Storm Elsa weakens slightly as it approaches Cuba

Tropical Storm Elsa slightly weakens as it becomes less organized this July 4th. As of 09:00UTC, Tropical Storm Elsa is located at 18.2N, 75.5W by Khan Storm Tracking estimates. Tropical storm conditions and dangerous storm surge are expected from Tropical Storm Elsa with hurricane conditions possible in portions of eastern Cuba later this July 4th. Tropical storm conditions are possible in central and western Cuba tonight and Monday. There is an increasing risk of tropical storm conditions, storm surge, and rainfall impacts beginning late Monday in the Florida Keys from Tropical Elsa, and a Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for portions of the Florida Keys. As Tropical Storm Elsa approaches the Florida Keys and Florida Peninsula early next week, isolated flash flooding and minor river flooding will be possible.

Reports

There are now four reported deaths from Tropical Storm Elsa, one from Avenida México due to a tree fell on a public convey unit, at the height of Bellas Artes [1]. 2 more reported deaths in the Dominican Republic, a 15-year-old boy and a 75-year-old woman died in separate events on Saturday after walls collapsed on them and an one extra death was reported in St Lucia.
