BREAKING – The National Hurricane Center has designated Subtropical Storm Ana near Bermuda making 2021 the seventh consecutive year of having off-season storms. As of 9:00 UTC, May 22, Ana is located at 34.2N and 62.2W and is moving at West-South-West (WSW) at 3mph which is 6kph. The lowest estimated pressure of Ana is 1006mbar which is 29.71inHg. The Bermuda Weather Service has already placed a Tropical Storm Watch for the island of Bermuda.

Cone from the National Hurricane Center:

The National Hurricane Center is not expecting Ana to make landfall anywhere, though gale force winds maybe felt in nearby landmasses such as Bermuda. Ana will likely change little in strength in the short term, but a combination of increasing shear, dry air, and decreasing SSTs should cause the storm to gradually weaken tonight and Sunday. The Post-tropical remains will likely be absorbed by a front shortly thereafter.
